Jebel Akhdar is also known as the green mountain. It is a great place for rock climing or walk the three village trail; an easy hike at high altitude, following old paths that link mountain villages. Admire terrace shaped farmland and ancient falaj irrigation systems, a great way to experience the western Hajar mountains. You can also visit several special places in the area such as the Diana Point or the Saiq Plateau.

Today you will drive the Rustaq route, a beautiful mountain route through the off-road parts of Wadi Bani Awf. You descend from Jebel Akhdar and head for the deserted town of Misfat Al Abriyyin. This unique town is known for her clay houses and the beautiful views. Continue for the Snake Canyon, it will start after the village of Bilad Sayt. The snake canyon is the most exciting part of the off-road route. You drive through the rugged valley towards Rustaq.

You will pass the Town Nakhal, home to one of the most famous forts of Oman. From Nakhal you have a beautiful view over de palmtrees. Optionally you can make a stop at Al Thowarah hotspring, the name ‘Thowarah’ derives from the Arabic word ‘boil’ although there is no danger of burning here as the springs are pleasantly warm.

At the end of the day you will be back in Muscat. We recommend you to leave early this day so that you can fully enjoy this beautiful route.

It is time to relax after your round trip. We can arrange a diving or snorkeling tour to the famous Daymaniyat Islands. This is one of Oman’s snorkeling hotspots. The coral reefs with many colored fish, many many sea turtles and the regular visit of Whale shark along it coasts make the Daymaniyat Islands an absolute must for everyone who loves to dive or snorkel. Afterwards you can visit the Bank Beach Club, just outside of Muscat. This beach club is the newest hotspot with international and asian-inspired dishes. Relax at the pool and enjoy the view.

If you want to attend a performance at the opera house, we can make a reservation for you. In the evening you can have dinner at the Caramel restaurant close to the Opera.

Unfortunately this is your last day in Oman. Depending on your flight choice, you will have some free time in Muscat before your departure. You will be picked up by our local representative and taken to the airport for your flight home.
