Cairo including private driver and guide
Get ready to explore Cairo! A chaotic but charming city. Here you can visit the Citadel of Salah el Din. From here you have a wonderful view over the skyline of Cairo. Besides this, the citadel houses the Mohammed Ali mosque with its four recognizable minarets.
Afterwards you can visit the busy Islamic quarter, this is within walking distance from the mosque. You will finish your day at the largest market in Africa, the El Kahlili Soukh. An unforgettable experience. Today you can also visit the Egyptian Museum, one of the most famous museums in the world. After your visit you will understand why.
Cairo - Amman including airport transfer
Today you leave the land of the Pharaohs behind you and fly to the capital of Jordan, Amman. You will be met by one of our local representatives and guided through the visa procedure. You will end up in a modern Arab melting pot, a city that is in full development and gives a good representation of the current Jordan. More than 3 million people live in Amman. After checking into the hotel, you can visit the Blue Mosque and the Citadel. The kingdom and people of Jordan take great pride in their culture of religious tolerance, regardless of color, race, or religion. The King Abdullah I Mosque, built in the 1980’s by the late King Hussein as a memorial to his grandfather, is open to Non-Muslim visitors.
Dead Sea - Madaba - Mount Nebo - Kerak - Petra
After breakfast, you check out and continue to travel south. From your accommodation you can travel towards Madaba, which is known for the very well preserved mosaic map in the St. George Church. Also, from Madaba you can easily reach the next landmark Mount Nebo, or Mount of Moses. Only ten kilometers from your resort you can find this famous mountain and the associated church. This place is well known because Moses ascended Mount Nebo to view the ‘Promised Land’.
Your journey continues south via the famous Kings Highway also known as Jordan’s King’s Road. This old trade route is still an important connecting road in Jordan. This highway brings you to the crusader castle of Kerak.
After visiting Kerak, you drive towards Petra. Here you will check-in at your accommodation for the night.
Petra Optional backdoor hike with guide
Today you will visit the ancient city of Petra, one of Jordan’s national treasures and one of the seven wonders of the world! Today you enter the red city of the Nabataeans. Centuries ago, the Nabataeans built a kingdom which was hidden in the mountains. The ingenious water system enabled the kingdom to flourish in this remote place for a long time. This also is one of the main reasons why all the carvings are so well preserved.
You can spend an entire day in the city. It will be an unforgettable visit but make sure you are ready for a full day of hiking. There are two ways to visit the site. The first one is the traditional way through the Siq (Canyon), this is the main entrance. The Siq will take you to the Treasury. You can visit the Treasury, basin, the royal tombs and the theater, the High Place of Sacrifice and the Roman soldier tombs. All the way at the end, on top of the mountain you will find the Monastery.
The second one is through the back door; the more adventurous route! It begins with a 20 minute drive through the desert. After the drive you will begin with a 1,5 hour hike through a mountain area, until you reach the Monastery. Then you will continue through the main site of Petra. Your guide will explain about the archaeology and the history of the site and it inhabitants. After exploring the city you will leave Petra from the main gate. This way you are avoiding the tourist crowds, definitely an advantage.
Petra - Wadi Rum Including jeepsafari with lunch
You leave the Nabataean city of Petra and head towards the Wadi Rum desert. The local Bedouins still live here and preserve the area. As the landscape hasn’t changed much over the years it feels like you go back in time. The Bedouins make sure that the protected area still has the same charm it had a thousand years ago.
Wadi Rum is one of the most beautiful deserts in the world, alternated by rugged rocks on both sides. The unique appearance creates the feeling you are on a different planet. No wonder this area served as a film location for many large productions, for example the classic Lawrence of Arabia (1960) and more recent Star Wars the Rise of Skywalker (2019).
Upon arrival your local Bedouin guide will be waiting for you. He will take you on a jeep safari for about four hours and will provide a delicious traditional lunch along the way. At the end of the tour you will be brought to your desert camp. Enjoy the beautiful starry sky at night.
Wadi Rum - Aqaba Optional balloon flight Wadi Rum at sunrise
Optionally you can start the day in a very unique way: with a balloon flight over the Wadi Rum at sunrise!
Today you will leave the vast landscape of the desert and return to civilization. You can still enjoy the quietness of the desert in the morning before you continue your journey towards Aqaba. After a one hour drive you can check-in at your resort and process the impressions of the past few days at your ease. It is time to sit back and relax!
Aqaba - Amman - Flight back home Including airport transfer
Your adventure through Jordan has come to an end. We hope you have had an amazing trip.
